In this program, you will have access to classes 和 research labs in both the College of Science 和 Technology 和 the College of Liberal 艺术.   

  • Temple’s Spatial Analytics Lab in geography 和 urban studies supports research 和 education in geographical information sciences. 的 lab provides spatial analytic services to Temple faculty, nonprofit organizations 和 government agencies 和 offers valuable internship opportunities throughout the year to students. 

  • 的 Ambler Field Station has research facilities in solar energy 和 agrivoltaics, biodiversity 和 forestry. 

  • Additional research facilities are located in Temple’s 生物学-Life Sciences Building, Beury Hall, 和 the Science Education 和 研究 Center (SERC) for the 生物学 和 Earth 和 Environmental Science departments 和 in Gladfelter Hall for the Department of Geography 和 Urban Studies.

Several related research centers 和 institutes are housed at Temple University.

  • 的 Center for Sustainability conducts integrated social 和 environmental research on natural, technological 和 socioeconomic systems to address the challenges of sustainability. 

  • 的 Center for Biodiversity is involved in the research, education 和 conservation of species. 

  • 的 Center for Biophysics 和 Computational 生物学 is where researchers conduct theoretical 和 experimental research into defining problems in structural biology, molecular recognition 和 the evolution of proteins. 

  • 的 Sbarro Health 研究 Organization is a center where researchers investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiovascular disease, cancer 和 other illnesses to find cures. 

  • Housed within the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, the Center for Asian Health seeks to reduce health disparities 和 improve health equity among underserved Asian Pacific Americans 和 other diverse health disparity populations.  

  • 的 Center for the Humanities at Temple is an interdisciplinary forum for scholarship 和 intellectual inquiry in the humanities, intended to bridge the disciplinary divide between departments 和 colleges. 

  • 的 Public Policy Lab is home to researchers who study public policies 和 the social processes relevant to their development 和 consequences. 

  • 的 Temple University Brain 研究 和 Imaging Center is an interdisciplinary research hub dedicated to the study of neurological biology 和 behavior.  

  • 的 University Community Collaborative prepares 和 supports youth 和 young adults to become confident, effective leaders, 和 it creates cultures that value 和 integrate the contributions of youth with the goal of building stronger communities.

Carnegie Classification

In 2016, Temple was elevated to an R1 institution of “very high research activity” by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, placing it in the top 4% of all four-year educational institutions in the nation. Temple’s research enterprise distinguishes itself through its focus on community, 和 using advances in technology to make a positive impact on people’s lives.
